Wasatch Wrestling Club

Tradition  •  Discipline  •  Mental Toughness  •  Sportsmanship  •  Competitiveness

Parents,

We do not have any coaches going to tournaments this weekend, but we do have a wrestle till you drop Wednesday at the Wasatch County Event Center at 5:30. All Wasatch wrestlers and parents need to be there at 5:00, but we will not start wrestling until 5:30.

With this we need all the parents support helping run tables, if you don't understand wrestling and how it is scored please be there to help run a table it is a great time to learn, if you do understand how scoring works even better. We need all the parents to bring their wrestler and come help with table help (writing the score in as officials score the match, running the time and scoreboard) so please please be there and come help. We will make sure your wrestler comes to your mat so you can watch them wrestle as well as help.

We will have a lot of different club teams coming to the wrestle till you drop so your wrestler should have as many matches as they can wrestle, we will write the weights of the kids on their arms as teams arrive and then have places for the wrestlers to go and sit in their designated weights so that they can find kids their size and go find a mat to wrestle on.

Congrats to the Dual Team that went to Altamont and took 3rd place, they wrestled hard and came away with some great wins.

Another wrestling season has come to an end, for some, this last weekend Wasatch traveled to Farmington for the Greco and Freestyle Utah State Tournament.  Wasatch had a lot of success and came home with 3rd overall as a team, which considering the teams ahead and close behind Wasatch had 40+ kids, Wasatch sent twenty five kids to the tournament this year and had twenty of them find a place on the podium.  Wasatch also had four kids qualify for the national teams (Zak Kohler, Braiden Parker, DJ Cohen, and Spencer Heywood) and will be traveling across the country throughout the summer wrestling in National Tournaments representing team Utah.  All of this could not be possible without the amazing coaches that put in many hours helping each kid individually week in and week out, as well as the parents for taking their kids to the practices and tournaments.  Here are the are the results from the state tournament this weekend.

Utah Greco State Championships

Ryder Christensen 5th, Kennis Christensen 4th, Christian Slack 1st, Mitchel Slack 5th, Zak Kohler 1st, Trevor Cluff 2nd, DJ Cohen 2nd, Rex Bowden 2nd, Payton Mair 3rd, and Ben Bos 3rd.
